Ah, ok.. so trident driver needs support for this device.

That leaves the vesa-driver problem. You didn't say how it doesn't work.. Try with Feisty Herd5, and run 'sudo xresprobe vesa' in the terminal and post the results. Also, attach /var/log/casper.log, Xorg.0.log and the resulting xorg.conf.
