Also note that this is dependent on the kernel version. The X display origin problem not happen with the lastest kernel, 2.6.32-10-generic #14-Ubuntu SMP, but it does happen with the previous kernel, 2.6.32-9. (See Bug #508456, describing another problem that has turned up in the last day).

The problem with switching to tty's still occurs.
