Hi.
I think this error occur because the higher resolutions (1280x1024) have not appropriate resolution ratio (in your case this is 4:3).

If You add the resolution what you want to xorg.conf, the problem will be fixed.

Please attach Your Xorg.0.log.

Hi pshahmumbai,

Thanks for including an image to demonstrate the issue. Could you also please attach the output of `lspci -vvnn`, and attach your /var/log/Xorg.0.log or Xorg.0.log.old file from after reproducing this issue. If you've made any customizations to your /etc/X11/xorg.conf please attach that as well.

I tested this with Ubuntu 9.04 and latest openchrome trunk version and original one.

I workaround this bug by add to xorg.conf in Section "Screen", following lines:

 SubSection "Display"
  Depth 24
  Modes "1280x1024" "1024x768" "800x600" "640x480"
  Virtual 1280 1024
 EndSubSection

@Nelsson
It is hard to say that this bug is duplicate of the #474151.
The #474151 haven't got an Xorg.0.log file attached.

This bug report was filed against an old version of Ubuntu.
Can you confirm whether this is still an issue in natty?

If you don't mind, it would be very helpful if you could update the bug
report in launchpad to 'Fix Released' if it is no longer an issue for
you, or if it is still occurring under natty, please tag the bug 'natty'
so it's easier for us to track.
