Please look at this Xorg.0.log file.

The screen resolution was autodetected and it was set correctly:
[ 21.833] (II) CHROME(0): ViaPanelGetNativeModeFromScratchPad
[ 21.833] (II) CHROME(0): Native Panel Resolution is 1024x768
