2008-08-31 13:26:52 Connor Imes xserver-xorg-video-nv: statusexplanation Can you check and see if this is still an issue on Hardy alpha? Thanks for reporting this bug and any supporting documentation. Since this bug has enough information provided for a developer to begin work, I'm going to mark it as Triaged and let them handle it from here. Thanks for taking the time to make Ubuntu better!
2009-01-12 22:16:49 Bryce Harrington description When doing a fresh 7.10 installation on a computer with a MSI NX7600GT (nvidia 7600GT) with an HDMI connected monitor, as soon as the live cd boots up into the "dash", graphics is corrupted (ubuntu logo during kernel boot looks ok). Trying to boot into safe mode, or manually setting vga resolution doesn't change this behaviour. Taking out the 7600GT, inserting a nvidia 6200LE, installing ubuntu 7.10, enabling the nvidia non-free driver (everything working properly), then removing the 6200LE and inserting the 7600GT works, so it seems this could be a problem with the X server that the installer chooses for the 7600GT.
