Both requested files provided, setting to unconfirmed.
Default resolution for the live CD is 2048x1536@60Hz, I have tried down to 640x480 without getting any choice but 60Hz for refresh frequency.

You may want to try setting HorizSync and VertRefresh on the liveCD /etc/X11/xorg.conf to the exact settings that your monitor manual specifies (and then restarting gdm) to see whether any new options become available... |
