Would it be possible for you to test the latest upstream kernel? Refer to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Please test the latest v3.10 kernel[0].

If this bug is fixed in the mainline kernel, please add the following tag 'kernel-fixed-upstream'.

If the mainline kernel does not fix this bug, please add the tag: 'kernel-bug-exists-upstream'.

If you are unable to test the mainline kernel, for example it will not boot, please add the tag: 'kernel-unable-to-test-upstream'.
Once testing of the upstream kernel is complete, please mark this bug as "Confirmed".

Thanks in advance.

Pro-Hsu Lin, as per http://www.dell.com/support/drivers/us/en/19/Product/precision-t7600 an update is available for your BIOS (A09). If you update to this following https://help.ubuntu.com/community/BiosUpdate , does it change anything? If it doesn't, could you please both specify what happened, and provide the output of the following terminal command:
sudo dmidecode -s bios-version && sudo dmidecode -s bios-release-date

Thank you for your understanding.

Steps:
1. Install 12.04.4, boot to desktop
2. Hibernate with "sudo pm-hibernate" command
3. Press the power button to wake it up

Expected result:
* System hibernated / resume from hibernate successfully.

Actual results:
* System successfully hibernated.
* On resume, you will see the desktop instead of the unlock dialog, and it freezes, the cursor is the only responding thing. A moment later, you will see the login screen, but it totally freezed again when you try to log in.

It's identical to bug 1182296, I think we can narrow down this to the nouveau driver
