I also switch to Debian 7. But I had still freezes.
Now that I am running kernel version 3.12.0 it seems that my system becomes stable. I saw 'only' one freeze in 14 days.
After all (I am affected from this problem still 10 month!) I guess that the problem is issued by the wifi. But I did not know how to test or verify this.
