Install the 12.04.2 kernel/xorg backport stack ('xserver-xorg-lts-quantal' and it's depends/recommends) to get rid of most of the issues on ivybridge and/or earlier intel.. closing as fixed.

And for the last time: for non-intel gfx users, this never was the bug for you. Check you hardware or blob driver version, then file a new bug and leave this 'forum' alone.
