Whatever the actual reason is: For me the problem vanished since I disconnected the additional monitor (I had 1-2 freezes per day, not one in a week with just 1 monitor).

If there is any hint how I can improve my bug report data on this odd issue I'd be glad, since the log files do not to help, nor there is something different to point at.
