I am also experiencing this issue.

Ubuntu 12.04.1 64bit
4GB RAM
AMD HD 4850

Seems to happen when I'm using chrome or firefox

total system lockup, cant move mouse or use keyboard, then pc reboots after 5 - 10 seconds automatically.

Please help! I really want to use Ubuntu, just switched from windows 7...
