I'd like to add that I have this Hard Lock on both my desktops, mounting a Celeron (sandy bridge) dual core and the other is mounting a i-5 quad core Sandy bridge.
Both system mount a Nvidia vga (gt430 and gt480).
I got those hard locks with Mint 14 and Xubuntu 12.10.
On Xubuntu machine I tried ubuntu Kernels 3.6 and 3.7 (rc7 candidate) and the bugs still affected my system.
I also tried, without any success in eliminating the issue, several Nvidia drivers: 310.10, 313.09 and 304.xx series.
