Tomasz Ostrowski see #328 above, I am not new to computers but a novice to Linux and I was able to do it. As a side benefit I am now confident using Synaptic Package manager, It was the last thing I installed after removing Ubuntu Software Center. I also did a system image using ReDO backup prior to any changes but thanks to Kevin LeBlanc's excellent instructions I had no problems.
Does anyone here know if I am creating an image to an external USB HDD is there a "best" file system to have the drive formatted to? I will be using the external for full images only - no sharing with other OS's.
