You can also upgrade to a kernel from oneiric. You will have to find
it in packages.ubuntu.com, download it, install it and then download
and install the missing dependencies also from oneiric. I have tried
it, it works, but I found it simpler to use the older kernel just when
I want to watch movies through my tv screen.

In Konsole, do:
wget http:// ubuntu. linux-bg. org/ubuntu/ /pool/main/ l/linux/ linux-image- 2.6.35- 30-generic_ 2.6.35- 30.54_i386. deb 2.6.35- 30-generic_ 2.6.35- 30.54_i386. deb
sudo dpkg -i linux-image-
Then reboot and choose the older kernel.
You can also upgrade to a kernel from oneiric. You will have to find ubuntu. com, download it, install it and then download
it in packages.
and install the missing dependencies also from oneiric. I have tried
it, it works, but I found it simpler to use the older kernel just when
I want to watch movies through my tv screen.
