Just for the record, here is a "Me too" reply here.
I get *very* serious visual corruptions here (and, yes, I do have a 865G also).
First, the Live CD tries to boot with Unity and it falls back to the "classic" mode. Unfortunately, there are still some compositing features enabled and I have to try hard to get to a terminal so that I can replace whatever window manager is running at that time with metacity with compositing disabled (just for the record, I used: "metacity --replace --no-composite").
It seems that we have some bad interaction among xserver-xorg-video-intel & libdrm & mesa.
I am attaching a screenshot to show something that I see. I assure you that this is one of the most readable screenshots that I could take.
