Please note that different permutations of the 'Sync to VBlank' option in the OpenGL plugin and the 'Don't wait for video sync' in the Workarounds plugin may affect positively or negatively the performance (I experienced stuttering in some configurations not sure which).

There are no such issues with Gnome 3 even when playing 1080p video.
