Menus are partially unreadable in kubuntu 11.04 Beta 1

 K menu & app menus have black on black with vertical streaks
on most but not all of the menu.
Disabling Desktop effects has no effect.

I am experiencing the same problem.

I am running Kubuntu 11.04 Beta1 on an Asus P8H67-M PRO/CSM motherboard with a Sandy Bridge Intel i7-2600K CPU using the on CPU Intel HD Graphics.

Also of note is that menus in non-KDE applications do display correctly (e.g., Firefox, Open Office, etc.)

Menu problem was resolved by installing x.org untrusted ppa:
ppa:xorg-edgers/ppa

It looks as if this bug is fixed in xserver-xorg-video-intel 2:2.14.0-4ubuntu7.

madbiologist, yes I can confirm that this fixed the problem for me.

Recently I tried kubuntu-11.04-beta2-desktop-amd64.iso and can confirm that the problem appears to be fixed in this new beta2 release.
