Thanks, but those all seem to describe "black screen on boot" problems. The problem you described in your initial bug report sounds different.
Fwiw, "black screen on boot" is a generic symptom that can result from a wide variety of different underlying bugs, and tends to be highly hardware-specific and specific to a particular version of the software.
