Alex,

I wasn't implying that we were going to roll this out to our developers, just that emphasizing the seemingly low priority given to this bug considering the prevalence of these chipsets. Like the previous commenter, I can only imagine the thousands of bad impressions new users will get when they finally decide that Purple Ubuntu (LTS no less) with get them to switch from that old XP install, only to find it totally bombs their system.
