Adding i915.modeset=1 to the boot line does no help either. 2.6.32-21 and 2.6.31-20 both fails. Recovery mode won't get through either.
I'm wondering if I can ever get my old installation back, or should I just use this new installation. But it really feels bad. I should not have chosen to upgrade to get into this.
