Along with the kern.log messages I see the following in my Xorg.[012].log:

Xorg.[02.]log

(==) intel(0): Silken mouse enabled
(II) intel(0): Initializing HW Cursor
(II) intel(0): No memory allocations

Xorg.1.log:

(EE) FBDEV(0): FBIOPUTCMAP: Invalid argument

Last message floods the log file I get
grep '(EE) FBDEV' /var/log/Xorg.1.log | wc -l
144356
