I checked out a clean v2.6.32 from linus kernel-tree and tested both with and without debug patch (giving either 640x480 or 848x480 and NTSC-M).
Just starting X and starting glxgears makes glxgears scrolls vertically.
It turns out all resolutions except 1024x768/NTSC-M makes glxgears scroll.
This means everything I can try for S-Video for NTSC-M and PAL makes glxgears scrolls except exactly 1024x768 for NTSC-M...
xterms still looks fine, so it IS something wrt glx... Was there not some change to use vsync by default and could that expose error like this? And could I try that somehow?
Ok, now this only gets more broken and broken...
