This is my problem -- I can't boot in Gnome proper -- must use failsafe .. Just did an upgrade to Ubuntu 9.10 from 9.04 ... upgrade went ok.. then within 30 seconds in Gnome.. it freezes... freezes to the point where I can't even move the mouse, type anything.. must do hard reboot.

Now Gnome failsafe works fine, I installed KDE to see if that works.. no problem... just Gnome.

I can't even see what the problem is because the computer locks up to the point where a hard reboot is needed.

It's a Compaq Presario - Celeron D
Intel 950 Video Card
1.5 GB ram

I cannot provide you with any more information regarding it because honestly the computer locks up to the point where I can't reach terminal or click on anything to find out what is wrong.

Now I am not a big fan of having to use Gnome Failsafe... I can provide you any information you need when the computer is in Gnome failsafe.. but I cannot report squat when it locks up in Gnome

Worth Nothing, this machine ran Ubuntu 9.04 without fail or errors...
