My experience is that I been able to install kubuntu 9.10 only with acpi=off
and nolapic kernel option at start up. The installation have been complete
without error but at the firt start up the screen freeze near after complete
log in. The laptop is an Asus M2400N with 1.4Ghz of first generation Centrino.
If I use option acpi=off the computer don't freeze but I can't use without ac
plugged in and the wireless dousen't work. Now I'm use 9.04 that did take me
some problem with the graphic card but after some new line in the xorg.conf
the problem seems to be solve. I'm very anhappy to see that free sotware don't
take forward step.
I'm sorry for my bad english and if I can help the comunity just say me what I
have to do.
Best regards.
