Andrea, 2.6.31 is the Karmic kernel. The libdrm package could hopefully fix (some of) the remaining freeze bugs in Lucid, but I don't have much hope for Karmic.
Actually, I would recommend people who experience frequent freezes on Karmic to upgrade to Lucid now. Yes, it is a development version and as such may break suddenly, but it may freeze less and it may help us to know which freeze problems still remain there.
