Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-video-intel

BELOW LOGS ARE FROM PREVIOUSLY INSTALLED KARMIC.

I am unable to boot the live desktop image from USB on my Acer Aspire One. I've actually also experienced this issue on a Toshiba Satellite laptop & my ATI-graphics-desktop. System startup appears to work just fine, loading Usplash (the plain white Ubuntu logo), and at least on this Acer, the fancy xsplash loads and then I'm left with the spinning mouse cursor and that continues forever. I cannot switch to a virtual terminal then.

Does xforcevesa still work? I've used that option on previous Ubuntu releases when I had similar problems but it doesn't seem to make a difference here.
