I think I'm having the same problem: I thought it was my monitor, but now I think I'm discovering it's not having the proper drivers for the Intel 82865G graphics controller. I'm a n00b, so I don't understand where exactly to throw the "nomodeset" line, if that is the solution.

Please help!!!
