Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. It seems that your bug report is not filed about a specific source package though, rather it is just filed against Ubuntu in general. It is important that bug reports be filed about source packages so that people interested in the package can find the bugs about it. You can find some hints about determining what package your bug might be about at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/FindRightPackage. You might also ask for help in the #ubuntu-bugs irc channel on Freenode.

To change the source package that this bug is filed about visit https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/1509721/+editstatus and add the package name in the text box next to the word Package.

Hello, I tested with Intel driver installer, but remains the same. In Ubuntu 14.04 small faults occur, but do not bother. In 1510 it looks so bad it can not read text.

I executed the following command

Is the virtual device can cause these failures?

Hi, I tried the version 16.04 of ubuntu and also looks bad. The problem may be the kernel?
I installed w7 on the computer, ubuntu 14.04 and ubuntu 16.06. With w7 always looks good, with ubuntu 14.04 there are small errors but I can work, with ubuntu 15.10 and 16.04 are many texts that can not work look so bad.

Do you need some additional information to include in the bug report?

Hello Christopher, I tested with the latest stable mainline kernel and it not start. Although it listed as kernel available with dpkg -l | grep "linux \ - [a-z] * \ -" and with dpkg --get-selections | grep linux-image, despite "sudo update-grub2" when I start the computer, this kernel doesn't appear in the grub.

José Vidal, at your earliest convenience, could you please test the next most latest upstream kernel available from the very top line at the top of the page from http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/?C=N;O=D (the release names are irrelevant for testing, and please do not test the daily folder)? Install instructions are available at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Kernel/MainlineBuilds . This will allow additional upstream developers to examine the issue.

If testing on your main install would be inconvenient, one may:
1) Install Ubuntu to a different partition and then test this there.
2) Backup, or clone the primary install.

If the latest kernel did not allow you to test to the issue (ex. you couldn't boot into the OS) please make a comment in your report about this, and continue to test the next most recent kernel version until you can test to the issue. Once you've tested the upstream kernel, please comment on which kernel version specifically you tested. If this issue is fixed in the mainline kernel, please add the following tags by clicking on the yellow circle with a black pencil icon, next to the word Tags, located at the bottom of the report description:
kernel-fixed-upstream
kernel-fixed-upstream-X.Y-rcZ

Where X, and Y are the first two numbers of the kernel version, and Z is the release candidate number if it exists.

If the mainline kernel does not fix the issue, please add the following tags:
kernel-bug-exists-upstream
kernel-bug-exists-upstream-X.Y-rcZ

Please note, an error to install the kernel does not fit the criteria of kernel-bug-exists-upstream.

Once testing of the latest upstream kernel is complete, please mark this report's Status as Confirmed. Please let us know your results.

Thank you for your understanding.

Thanks. Now, it is already fixed this bug.

On my previous comment "does not appear in kernel grub" was corrected by making "sudo update-grub2" in the main partition, with Ubuntu 14.04.3 (I use 3 partitions with 3 different OS,). In previous tests I did run "sudo update-grub2" in ubuntu 15.10 just after installing the kernel.

José Vidal, the next step is to fully reverse commit bisect from kernel 4.3 to 4.4-rc8 in order to identify the last bad commit, followed immediately by the first good one. Once this good commit has been identified, it may be reviewed for backporting. Could you please do this following https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Kernel/KernelBisection#How_do_I_reverse_bisect_the_upstream_kernel.3F ?

Please note, finding adjacent kernel versions is not fully commit bisecting.

After the fix commit (not kernel version) has been identified, then please mark this report Status Confirmed.

Thank you for your understanding.
