Bug Description

If I'm browsing and doing some heavy stuff like streaming or runing multiple terminal commands (ssh, wget etc) or watching Video with VLC. Ubuntu just freezes entirely - no mouse or keyboard works unless forcing shutdown with power button, I can't guess when this actually happens, it happens when I don't expect it - even after a fresh boot.

I have same issue with J1900 and Intel graphics and nothing in logs. I had previously disabled RC6 following this bug. I don't know if it's related to this bug

Various Thinkpads (X240, T430s,S440) exhibiting freezing behaviour - nothing showing in logs. System mostly wakens up again after a minute or two.

I have tried switching to Cinnamon desktop rather than Unity, no freezes in that (yet).

I am facing the freezing behavior for long time. I have seen it in 14.10 and now in 15.04. I always face this once is explore dropbox folder. I was in doubt on 14.10. I formatted my laptop and installed 15.04. It was nice before installing Dropbox. Once I installed dropbox and explored it the same freezing problems... I always need to do force shutdown pushing power button and start again. I am using Dell Inspiron 15. I face this problem only after using dropbox always. Once Open dropbox folder immediately all the desktop folders and files disappear and start freezing. I don't know why. I do force shutdown always and start it again.

Sorry, commented in the wrong area :S - I get a freeze exactly as described here but it happens whenever I use VLC - but I'm not using Intel GPU but nvidia so it doesn't fit in here. Please ignore.

SAme problem here . Mine is a new install. Partitions were wiped first. Around 60% require power switch or alt + sys req = R_E_I_S_U_B. Can barely get anything done. No issues with 14.10.

Having the same issue. I had it in 14.01 but when I used the intel driver installer to install graphic drivers it fixed it, A bout 2 weeks 15.04 came out and the issue returned. happens a lot on Facebook and gmail & Youtube in Chrome AND firefox. I've installed freshplayer/pepperflash plugins and HTML5 only video plugins (for youtube) didnt really help. Getting constand Script stopped/ pages unresposive messages and then EVERYTHING locks up. Am using a pretty old Inspiron 2600 with intel onboard graphics and an external Monitor attached

The same problem. It has to do something with GPU as it happens only when using app that uses OpenGL.
