sorry to bother you again.
but i want to make sure that im filing this bug against the right package. from my last attempt with vesa it seems that the bug is with gnome-screensaver after all.

1, gnome-screensaver makes the screen comepletely white when it "locks the screen" (both with i810 and vesa)
2, when the screen is turned off with ''xset dpms off'' with i810 the backlight stays on. vbetool does the job correctly...
