Stéphane Graber reports in bug #270912 that Geode 2.11.4.1 (currently in my PPA) resolves this issue for him.

FYI, maximum resolutions supported by the GX2 "Red Cloud" Geode are:

CRT: 1600x1200
TFT: 1280x1024
