It's hardly a fresh lucid install if you're using a 2.6.34 kernel.. nouveau in 2.6.34 and higher does not work with the nouveau userspace in lucid, you need to update libdrm/xserver-xorg-video-nouveau to use it and if you update them they will no longer work with a 2.6.33 and older kernel. Those error messages only happen when you're using fbdev with KMS, and they are harmless.
