Whole 12.04 Ubuntu freezes for me randomly and the computer must be hard rebooted or cltr + alt + f1 than logging in and then sudo reboot. The system is a dual boot with WXP. The system can work well for several hours, but suddenly it just freezes both in Firefox and Chromium, Dell Dimension E521 with an ATI X1300Pro ..
