Great to hear you got it working. If there are additional issues remaining, would you mind filing them as new bugs, since this one has gotten rather long.

Btw, I don't know if this is even relevant for PPC, but often the RV350 cards need AGPMode settings tweaked to resolve problems with crashes/corruption/etc. See https://wiki.ubuntu.com/X/Quirks for details on this.
