Thank you Steve for the suggestion. Now I've tried (and also removed cloud-init) and I found no problem, except for a service that I've written myself. When running a konsole in X and then giving the command "sudo bum" and starting the service, I see some messages from bum but also this
That doesn't seem right to me. (What can cause this?)
With limited testing it seems that this is the problem.
The service I start is a very basic bashscript that starts php programs.
I guess I'll have to look elsewhere to find why those scripts are behaving this way since it's not really an ubuntu specific issue. I can add though that the scripts did not cause any problems in 11.04.
