The freeze doesn't happen with the same set of steps always, but Google Map always freezes the system when one zoomes and drags the map a few times (now that I tried this ones more, I only had to load the page in order for this to happen).
Also, using pop-up menus in Eclipse (closing a projekt) and Image Viewer (so probably with any app, leading me to think that this is probably Window manager issue) may cause the same problem. This I cannot reproduce, but the end-state is exactly the same as when freezing because of Google Maps, i.e. frozen system and mouse pointer moving slowly in small jumps.
