Note that the CD, when booted as a live CD, *appears* to have the correct drivers. However, the drivers for the S3 cards seem unable to determine a workable screen resolution for the Samsung SyncMaster 570S TFT display, or for the Averatec display. I have not found a way to try to install a modified xorg.conf file, which worked for hardy.
With Ubuntu 8.04 and 8.04.1, the system comes up in 800x600 mode, and changing xorg.conf can get X to restart in 1024x768 mode, the maximum for the Samsung display.
