On my gBox computer with a S3 Inc. VT8375 [ProSavage8 KM266/KL266] display controller, connected to a Samsung SyncMaster 570S TFT display, mentioned above, the hack in the previous comment does not work. The reason is that X won't even start in low-graphics mode, and it doesn't seem to be possible to switch to a console, so copying xorg.conf isn't possible. The Samsung display occasionally shows warning popups which states that it can't handle the current output mode from the S3 adapter.
