Bug Description
Binary package hint: xserver-
since version 6.7.192 the analog output of my radeon 9700 on the dvi-i connector (with dvi->vga adapter) is broken.
i use only one monitor, it's connected to the dvi-i port with adapter and vga-cable. when gdm comes up (i can hear the sound) the screen stays completely black. after switching to tty1 and back to X the image is displayed, but at very bad quality. its much too bright and bright areas cast bright "shadows" to the right. lowering gamma does not fix this.
if i use the card's vga-connector instead of dvi+adapter it works as intended and quality is ok, but as the analog signal on dvi used to be of better quality, i'd like to continue using it.
i found this via google and i think it describes the same problem: http://
this problem still exists in 6.7.194, tested with xserver-
ps: analog output on dvi-i worked fine with 6.6.x
Can you try to disable the TV output in xorg.conf? lists.freedeskt op.org/ archives/ xorg/2007- August/ 027657. html

There's now a "-tv2" version out in my ppa, but I don't expect anything to have changed for your issue. Alex said he might do some LVDS work in the weekend, in which case there'll be a -tv3 soon.
