1. Bios Versions: Running this on the current (old, without BIOS updates) system gives:
sudo dmidecode -s bios-version && sudo dmidecode -s bios-release-date 8,10 09/25/12
2. Information with ARandR Installing ARandR shows the system automatic configuration: Output: DisplayPort-1 Resolution: 1920x1080
It seems that by lowering the resolution to e.g. 1680 x 1050 xorg takes much longer to freeze
3. Attempt with fglrx-amdcccle Installing fglrx-amdcccle leads the system to chose another automatic configuration Output: DFP1 Resolution: 1920x1080
In the lower right side of the windows appears a message with "AMD unsupported hardware. xorg freezes quite quickly.
