Is this realy still a problem?? I am using Intrepid RC on Vmware Workstation 5.5.0 and do not have this problem. The mouse releases with Ctrl-Alt and when I click into the VM it grabs my mouse. This also works with the livecd, an upgrade from 8.04 to Intrepid RC and with the latest updates.
