Backup and then remove 50-synap* and 51-syn* files from /usr/share/X11/xorg.conf.d
Create a file called 50-mtrack.conf containing the following

Section "InputClass"
 MatchIsTouchpad "true"
 Identifier "Multitouch Touchpad"
 Driver "mtrack"
 Option "Sensitivity" "1.4"
 Option "IgnoreThumb" "true"
 #Option "ButtonMoveEmulate" "false"
 Option "ClickFinger1" "1"
 Option "ClickFinger2" "3"
 #Option "ClickFinger3" "3"
 Option "TapButton1" "0"
 Option "TapButton2" "0"
 Option "TapButton3" "0"
 Option "TapButton4" "0"
 Option "ScrollDistance" "75"
 Option "BottomEdge" "30"

EndSection

Then run
sudo restart lightdm
