longborder, this shouldn't be needed anymore. If you install the updates, you pad should work now (try using it to set the keys in a simple game like FrozenBubble (it might not work perfect, but that's a problem with something else, and you can file a bug ;) ).
longborder (ridensurf) wrote : Re: [Bug 283399] Re: [Intrepid] lshal output for different joystick, joypad and dance mat devices | #107 |
Thanks for the quick reply! Don't mean to sound ignorant, but which
updates? Just for the Joystick package? or all of Ubuntu? Thanks again!

I have found this post - https:/
that brought me here. So :
Company name : Topway
Model : TP-U626 <-- I don't know for sure if that is it's model's name, but on their home page, the picture exactly looks like my joypad...
It's black, look's exactly like "sony playstation 1" joypad, and has the dual-shock function...
I have bought it for about 3 years ago, it was made in china.
Company's home page : http://
When i connect it to my computer, it doesn't recognized by any game or game emulator...
The computer keeps working us usual...
Please help...

I realize this is an infrared remote. But the dmesg output describes it as a game controller. Also, the joystick_lshal call did not pick it up until I hit a button on the remote. Seems the dongle was designed to disconnect if it does not recognize a PS3 flag.
