Bug Description

Binary package hint: xorg

The colors on the screen connected to the display port are incorrect.

http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1747896 (also includes pictures of the screen.) I used multiple monitors all have the same issue.
Not that screen connected to the VGA works fine.

Hey pimmetje,

You filed this bug report against natty, but I see it's still open and
doesn't appear to have much activity recently. So, now that oneiric
is released and stable, this may be a good point for you to upgrade
and re-test if this issue is still present there.

If it's solved in the new release and you think it's worth backporting
the fix, please indicate that. Or if having the fix in the new release
is good enough, feel free to close out the bug (or let us know and we'll
close it.)

If it's not solved, leave the bug report open. I can't promise we'll
get to it (we get way more bugs filed than we can usually get to), but
your testing and feedback can help out if and when we do.

Thanks for the replay,

I already upgraded to 11.10. One thing i know for sure is that it is not a hardware issue. Because the first time it worked. After a reboot i had again the old issue. A few days ago i had also one boot that worked like it should be i am unable to reproduce the working situation.

I sadly have no experience in debugging this kind of issues. But i have basic unix knowhow (shell mainly).

I have to feeling that something is crashing (gui wise) at startup because it takes 5 - 10 seconds longer to get the login screen as it does when i do not have the external screens connected.

In any case thank u all for our time in making ubuntu better :)
If there is any way i can assist please let me know.

I have a other monitor now. A newer one. Guess what this one works great :). My guess is that the HDMI standard on the monitor is not compatible with the way implemented in Ubuntu. If there is anyone interested i still have the old monitor working under windows and i am willing to help / test fixing this.

For me its not that interesting for now as i have a working monitor now :). Thanks again for reading and perhaps it helps someone else.
