Bug Description

Binary package hint: xorg

Hi,
when I log into Gnome, I get that "Your last session lasted only 10 seconds" message, and as soon as I click ok, xorg crashes along with some display errors and restarts. I've tried disabling compiz, deleting ~/.config/autostart and ~/.gnome2/session, but none of these helped.
The failsafe session doesn't work either. It shows me some error connecting to a varying dbus socket and then crashes, but I think this is only a symptom.

I've attached a tarball containing my Xorg.0.log, Xorg.0.log.old and .xsession-errors

I'm using an up-to-date version of Intrepid. Package versions:
xserver-xorg 1:7.4~0ubuntu2
gnome-session 2.23.6-0ubuntu1

/edit:
By deleting some files and reinstalling some packages, I have somehow managed to get the failsafe mode working. The normal GNOME session still crashes, though.

It seems that the last update to gnome-session fixed it.

I hope it's ok to mark this one as fixed now. Just correct it if I'm wrong. :)
