Wow. This just started happening to me today and I almost threw my mouse out of the window.

I've been running 16.04 LTS for a long time and i've had some issues with ibus and PHPStorm but this is something completely new that started happening out of the blue today.

Can confirm that switching to TTY and back helps (CTRL + ALT + F1 / CTRL+ ALT + F7)
