My opinion:

Patch pros:
- This patch fixes 'something'.

Patch cons:
- This patch breaks all (?) setups with Nvidia 8xxx hardware and Compiz Fusion software

My opinion: if it is not known what this patch fixes, it should be dropped. If it is known, let the popularity-contest decide.
