When selecting 'Switch user' the current session is locked and the unlock dialog is displayed, Clicking switch user on the dialog re-displays the unlock dialog. At no point is gdm displayed to allow a different user to log in. I have problems in the past with this nVidia hardware switching modes and don't know if this may be related for info its legacy hardware mx440 using
