Problem also occurs on my Toshiba Satellite U405, with Intel GMA X3100 graphics: mouse moving into the "dead space" above the top menu bar on the laptop monitor.
Is there any estimate how or when it might be resolved? I suspect it affects any person who uses dual monitors with a laptop, since generally the laptop screen height is not the same as a CRT or LCD display. It's hard for me to believe it's been discussed since March 2007 (per response #1) and still no patch ;-P
In almost all cases, I suspect the user will have two displays side-by-side that are different heights. It should be relatively simple to add a solution for this situation, taking care of 99% of the open cases. All that needs to be done is to prevent the mouse from entering the dead space (and respectively prevent windows from being moved there).
