- Open Google Chrome
- Right-click to open a context menu
- Use the keyboard shortcut to trigger the gnome screenshot area UI
- For me, that's CTRL-ALT-PrintScreen, but I my keybindings may be customized
That's it, and it may take a couple tries, but these steps 100% reproduces it for me. Please let me know if it reproduces for you, and if I can provide more info.
Notes:
- It must be a Google Chrome window. Context menus on gnome-terminal and gimp block my keyboard shortcuts entirely, so I cannot screenshot those context menus, and cannot trigger the issue.
- Using "shutter" to take the screenshot instead of gnome screenshot works. I have SHIFT-PrintScreen bound to `shutter -s`
Aha, I did find a non-reboot fix: 🎉
busctl --user call org.gnome.Shell /org/gnome/Shell org.gnome.Shell Eval s 'Meta.restart("Restarting…")'
Yep, repro works for me:
